About
Anqa Systems
Thirty-three years of business technology across Business Operations and Go To Market.
A systems practice based in Connecticut, working with owner-operated businesses across New England.
Direct, start to finish.
The people who assess your business are the people who build the system and the people who answer when something goes wrong. There is no account manager in between, and nothing is handed to a delivery team that was never in the room.
Every engagement is scoped, written down and priced before the work starts. When a request falls outside what we do well, we say so early rather than late.
Background.
Telecom
Our work started in business phone systems and voicemail: selling them, and then supporting them when they did not work correctly. Most of what we know about how small businesses operate was learned standing inside them.
Operations
Years spent running operations inside companies: process, delivery, and the work of getting an organization to do the same thing twice without dropping anything. That is the difference between a system that works when everyone is paying attention and one that works on a bad Tuesday.
Oracle
Seven years at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure across progressive Principal-level roles, most recently as Chief of Staff for Global Sales Activation and Enablement. That work is largely a matter of deciding in advance what happens when part of a system fails at two in the morning, and writing it down before it does. It is the part most projects skip, and it is why the systems we build have a defined response to the situation nobody planned for.
AI voice agents
The past year has been spent building AI voice agents: building them, testing them against deliberate failure, and rebuilding them. That work started while the tooling was still rough enough to require understanding what sat underneath it.
Before any of it
Founder Sean Bjers served as a Reconnaissance Marine with 4th Force Reconnaissance Company, Marine Corps Reserve, 1987 to 1991. That is where the planning method comes from. You start at the extraction point and work backwards, because the time you have to be somewhere is the only fixed thing and everything else has to bend around it. Projects here are still planned that way.
Why this exists.
Large companies pay firms like Deloitte and Oracle real money to have someone look at their operations and tell them the truth. Owner-operated businesses rarely get that, and they need it more, because they have less room to absorb a bad year.
Closing that gap is the whole point of Anqa Systems. The assessment that opens every engagement is the same kind of work, done at a size that fits the business paying for it, and it costs nothing.
Some of the clients who still call for advice have been calling for thirty years. That happens for one reason: they get told the truth whether they like it or not. Sometimes the answer is to work with us, sometimes it is to work with someone else, and sometimes it is to fix a process and buy nothing at all. The answer is the same either way.
How we work.
Every engagement begins on site. How work actually moves through a business is difficult to learn from a questionnaire, and the systems worth building are the ones shaped around what is really happening rather than what a form said was happening.
Everything we build is opened in the client's name, in an account the client controls. If the engagement ends, the client keeps the system and it continues to run.
If a project is larger than we can deliver well, or if a business would be better served by software it already pays for, we say so before any money changes hands.
